Kim Dao is an Australian blogger and a YouTube personality who currently lives in Japan. She made her first social media presence with The Kim Dao Blog that she started to document her first visit to Japan in 2011. Her posts garnered the interest of many readers, which eventually led her to share more of her experiences through YouTube videos.
An alumnus of the University of Western Australia with degrees in Japanese and Psychology, Kim Dao soon expanded her blog and YouTube channel to include posts on some of the other topics she is passionate about — makeup, fashion, and travel. One of Kim Dao’s YouTube channel has nearly a half a million subscribers, with over 40 million views. She publishes numerous videos about her travel and shopping experiences in Japan, and also about Korean and Japanese makeup. Her videos also include tutorials and tips for skin, nail, and haircare in addition to a playlist of her fashion videos. She uploads vlogs every week on her other channel, kimdaovlog where she shares her various adventures in and around Japan with over a hundred thousand subscribers. As an active and efficient communicator, she makes sure she is aware what her followers would like to view and gets to know them as much as she wants them to know her.

Little did she realize that years after her first blog post, she would go on to become a recognized voice across the Internet. Kim Dao has left few stones unturned when it comes to making her presence known online. Her sizeable fan base is spread across numerous social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and Twitch to name a few. She interacts with them almost every morning to get a picture of what they’d like to read or view in her posts.
