Mark McDaniel
PROFESSOR
ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN OF STUDENTS
Mark McDaniel was born at the Bitburg Air Base in West Germany. His family moved to Austin, Texas in 1970 where his father retired from the Air Force. Mark received Christ as his personal savior at Woodlawn Baptist Church in 1973. On November 29, 1997, Mark married the former Brandi Longino, an Arlington Baptist College alumni. Mark spent nine years on active duty as a Chaplain Assistant in the United States Air Force. After separating from active duty, Mark has remained in the United States Air Force Reserve. His reserve duty has included three years as a Chaplain Assistant, three years as a Chaplain Candidate and seven years as a Reserve Chaplain. Mark received endorsement in the chaplaincy from the World Baptist Fellowship in February of 1999. During his military service, Mark has deployed in support of OPERATION Desert Shield/Storm (Germany), OPERATION Sea Signal (Cuba) and OPERATION Iraqi Freedom/Global War on Terror (Iraq). Mark was licensed to preach from Calvary Baptist Church in Emerado, North Dakota. Mark was ordained at the Southwest Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.
EDUCATION
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree from Park College (now University), Grand Forks Air Force Base Satellite Campus, North Dakota in 1990. Mark received his Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas in 1998. Mark is in candidacy status for the Doctor of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He anticipates to be awarded his Doctorate in 2007. His Doctoral Project relates to his preaching during the deployment to Iraq.
EXPERIENCE
Mark taught at the Faith Christian School in Colleyville, Texas for two years. He taught a variety of subjects including Christian History, American History, Federal Government, Economics, and Bible. Mark began teaching at the Arlington Baptist College as an adjunct professor in the Fall of 2000. Mark joined the faculty in the Fall of 2001. Among Mark’s many courses offered are American History, Federal and State/Local Government, Old/New Testament Survey, Hebrew Study Tools and Cross-Cultural Ministry. Mark has brought five of his courses on-line and is in the development stage for five others. |
